Exploring the Historic Village of Waynesville

Blog by Eva Hammang

Looking for a fun little day trip or just hoping to squeeze in a bite to eat or shopping stop on your way up to Caesar Creek? Waynesville, Ohio and its charming downtown are well worth a visit!

This past weekend I got to the chance to wander the charming Warren County village, where I shopped, snacked, and enjoyed its artsy atmosphere!

Art Expressions, a fine art gallery, used bookstore, & more!

I started by checking out the many adorable antique shops that line each of Waynesville's streets. Each shop has its own personality, offering everything from vintage home décor to interesting and unique collectibles. It felt like stepping back in time where every item has a story. Whether you’re an antique lover or just browsing, it’s easy to get lost in the nostalgia of it all. You can also uncover amazing fashion pieces in various shops that could be perfect for your next visit to the Ohio Renaissance Festival.

I found myself drawn to Art Expressions, a vibrant little shop that's a must-see if you like supporting local art. From beautiful ceramics to hand-painted pieces, the store is a reflection of the creativity in the community. The real kicker for me was that they also carry tea blends! If you know me, I'm a real sucker for chai tea, so naturally, I picked up a bag of Apple Spiced Chai, along with a few other goodies from the shop.

Hubbard's Cupboard Bakery & Cafe

Of course, no shopping trip is complete without a snack break, and I found the perfect spot at Hubbard's Cupboard. The smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls was too tempting to resist, so I grabbed one and paired it with a cozy chai tea (because, yes, more chai is always a good idea!). It was the perfect combo to refuel and keep me going.

Some other great places to stop by and grab a bite include Mami Fina’s, Stone House Tavern, Butter Churn Cafe, and Village Family Restaurant. All of these have something different to offer, whether you’re craving tacos, comfort food, or just a cozy spot to relax.

By the time I left downtown Waynesville, my bags were full and my taste buds were satisfied. If you’re looking for a relaxing day trip filled with unique shopping experiences and comforting bites, this little town should definitely be on your list!
