Established in 1831 in Harveysburg, the Harveysburg Free Black School was the first free school for African-American children in Ohio and remained in operation as a school until the early 1900s. Inside the school, you'll find old yearbooks, school logs, clothing, sheet music and other items from the school's past. The site hosts an open house in the Spring and in the Fall. All other times, the site is open by appointment only.
