Tour the home of poet Paul Laurence Dunbar, who became known as the poet laureate of African Americans. This Italianate turn-of-the-century house in Dayton exhibits his literary treasures, as well as many of his personal items and treasured family furnishings. During his short lifetime, Dunbar, drew on his observations of society and the experiences of his once enslaved to give a voice to the disenfranchised people of his day and became a proclaimer of black dignity.
