Grown-up Getaways available year-round in Warren County, Ohio
MASON, OH - August 21, 2013 - Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau pairs outdoor adventures, unique shopping, date-night dinners and romantic B&Bs to offer Grown-up Getaways throughout the year.
"Warren County may be known for the fun family activities it has to offer, but we have plenty for adults to do as well, from outdoor adventures to secluded B&Bs to upscale dining options," said Phil Smith, President & CEO of Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau. "There's so much to see and do, whether you're planning a date-night during a family vacation or just need a weekend away."
Grown-up Getaway for Outdoor AdventurersAt Ozone Zipline Adventures, guests can choose between three tours and zip across seven to 11 lines while taking in the 360-degree views of the Little Miami River Valley. After zipping above the Little Miami Scenic River, visitors can take a ride on the river in a kayak, canoe or raft at one of Warren County's canoe liveries such as Morgan's Outdoor Adventures in Oregonia, or Little Miami Canoe Rental in Waynesville. Many visitors continue their explorations with a visit to Valley Vineyards or enjoying a meal at a locally owned restaurant like Phoenician Taverna or Bentino's Pizza.
Romantic Grown-up Getaway
Take off at dawn or dusk for a hot-air balloon ride with Bella Balloons. Group or private tours are available, and include Bella champagne flutes and champagne from local winery, Valley Vineyards. Visitors can spend the day perusing the shops of Lebanon, Ohio, in the more than 50 antique, boutique and specialty shops that line the streets. Valley Vineyards is a popular option for dinner for two. The winery, located in Morrow, Ohio, offers weekend cookouts including your choice of entrée, buffet sides, and a glass of wine. The Marriott Cincinnati Northeast is a luxury hotel located within minutes of Warren County attractions and is a short drive to downtown Cincinnati.
Festivals and Events for Grown-ups
Fall festival season kicks off Labor Day weekend with the Ohio Renaissance Festival. Visitors can watch live jousting matches and additional stage performances, try activities like shooting arrows and throwing axes, and eat turkey legs. The festival is open for eight consecutive weekends. For a unique food experience, visitors can plan a weekend getaway in October for the Ohio Sauerkraut Festival. Over seven tons of sauerkraut are used during the festival to make foods including pork and sauerkraut, hotdogs and brats, sauerkraut pizza and even fudge made with sauerkraut. Warren County has more than 40 convenient and comfortable hotels and B&Bs to choose from to complete this getaway.
The WCCVB offers online packaging for hotel stays and attraction tickets to make planning a trip quick and convenient. Prospective visitors can either select a pre-formed package or build a custom package. With each option, visitors are able to choose from a selection of hotels to fit their needs. Tickets available for purchase on the WCCVB website include Ozone Zipline Adventures, Kings Island, Lazer Kraze, Newport Aquarium, Cincinnati Zoo, BB Riverboats and more. These tickets can be purchased individually or added on to a custom package.
