Warren County attractions, festivals draw tourists for fall travel season

WARREN COUNTY, OH (August 3, 2015) – The Ohio Renaissance Festival, Kings Island’s Halloween Haunt, and other autumn attractions project to once again draw considerable crowds to Southwest Ohio this fall, according to the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau (WCCVB).

Running Saturdays and Sundays (as well as Labor Day) between September 5 and October 25, The Ohio Renaissance Festival in Harveysburg, Ohio is featuring new attractions, stage shows and vendors in 2015. Billed as a “day-long, non-stop adventure”, the event will feature nearly 100 daily shows, more than 135 craft shops, and era-inspired food and drink.

Halloween-themed attractions ranging from family-friendly to highly intense will also open their doors in the coming weeks. Kings Island’s Halloween Haunt will welcome guests Fridays and Saturdays September 25 through November 1, while Snoopy’s Halloween Party—the park’s family-focused Halloween celebration—will run Saturdays and Sundays throughout October and November 1. Waynesville, Ohio, regarded as one of the nation’s most haunted villages, will host guided walking tours select October evenings.

Clarksville, Ohio’s Bonnybrook Farms will treat guests to covered-wagon rides, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and more at its Fall Farm Days Saturdays and Sundays this October, while its Lantern Light Wagon Ride and Corn Mazes will be held Saturday evenings.

Open year-round, Oregonia, Ohio’s Ozone Zipline Adventures is one of the largest zip line tree-top canopy tours in the Midwest. Its zip tours are designed to be both thrilling and educational, featuring lines as high as 200 feet above ground and experienced tour guides who share knowledge of Southwest Ohio’s natural history. Full moon night zipping is offered select weekends throughout the year, including October 23-24, when the course will offer a special Halloween-inspired tour, Zipping with Zombies.

New for 2015, the LM&M Railroad’s Fall Harvest Flyer will offer guests nostalgic train rides through the Warren County Countryside and family-friendly activities at Lebanon, Ohio’s Black Barn farmers market select Saturdays and Sundays in October. Guests will be invited to explore the market’s many fall-themed offerings, including pumpkin painting, hay rides, mazes and more before making a return trip to LM&M’s Historic Downtown Lebanon station.

Valley Vineyards, an award-winning winery and micro-brewery in Morrow, Ohio, offers both indoor and outdoor weekend cookouts Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights through December. Cookout guests are invited to grill their own steak or salmon to dine on along with side dishes, desserts and the vineyard’s locally produced adult beverages. A “Twilight Canoe & Dinner for Two” package, which includes a three-mile canoe trip down the Little Miami Scenic River and a Valley Vineyards cookout, is available select dates in September and October.

Fall Festivals account for a sizeable percentage of the county’s seasonal visitors. Lebanon’s Country AppleFest (Sept. 26) and Waynesville’s Ohio Sauerkraut Festival (Oct. 10-11) are among the region’s most popular food and craft gatherings, and are both free to the public.
