Warren County CVB Earns Multiple Marketing Awards 

MASON, OH - October 3, 2013 - The Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau received four MIDDY Awards for excellence in marketing from the Ohio Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (OACVB).

"Tourism is the number one industry in Warren County," said Phil Smith, President & CEO of the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau (WCCVB). "We work hard to develop and implement interesting and innovative marketing tactics with one goal in mind, and that's to attract overnight visitors to our destination. We are honored to be recognized."

The WCCVB received first-place MIDDY Awards for the following categories:

  • Direct Mail - for a postcard as part of the "Drive a Little, Play a Lot" campaign
  • Print Series Display Ad-as part of the "Drive a Little, Play a Lot" campaign in Oprah Magazine
  • Annual Report

The WCCVB also earned a second-place MIDDY award in the category of Promotional Videos.

OACVB held its 16th Annual Awards of Excellence Luncheon in Springfield, Ohio on Thursday, September 19, 2013, during the organization's Annual Education Conference. MIDDY Awards are presented for destination marketing and tourism development.

"The MIDDY Award name reflects our region of the country", said Jeri Knowlton, Chairperson of the OACVB MIDDY Awards for 2013. "Recipients are recognized for excellence in objective, results, creativity and originality."

A total of 122 entries were received in print, advertising, promotion, TV/Video, Internet related, strategy, graphics, and radio. All entries are judged by a team of experts in the communications, advertising, public relations, publications and/or tourism fields from outside of the OACVB membership.
