Warren County CVB Receives 4 Awards at State Tourism Conference

COLUMBUS, OH (November 18, 2015) – The Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau (WCCVB) received four awards for excellence in destination marketing Tuesday at the Ohio Travel Association's (OTA) 2015 Ohio Conference on Tourism.

“The RUBY Awards are an absolute honor, and one we never take lightly," said Phillip S. Smith, President & CEO of the WCCVB. "Our staff puts an incredible amount of effort into marketing our county and its many attractions, and it’s a terrific feeling to have that effort formally recognized by the state.”

The RUBYs, which stand for Recognizing Uncommon Brilliance in the Travel and Tourism Industry, serve to highlight outstanding advertising, marketing and public relations efforts made within the travel industry by both OTA members and non-member travel and tourism entities based within the state of Ohio. This year's awards received a record 194 entries throughout 16 award categories. Each entry was judged by a panel of nine marketing professionals.

The WCCVB was awarded first place honors for its monthly e-newsletter, as well as second place honors for its radio advertisements, social media campaigns, and blog (StoriesFromThePlayground.com).

The WCCVB was previously recognized by the Ohio Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (OACVB) in September, taking home Middy Awards for its television spots, monthly e-newsletter, leisure travel print advertisements, and annual report.
