Warren County CVB Recognized with 6 awards from State Associations

WARREN COUNTY, OH (October 7, 2021) – The Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau (WCCVB) has received six statewide awards for its destination marketing efforts. The Ohio Travel Association (OTA) presented two RUBY Awards to the WCCVB, while the Ohio Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (OACVB) honored the WCCVB with four of its STAR Awards.

Today, the WCCVB won first place in the RUBY Awards’ Blog category for Stories From The Playground, a blog series hosted on its web site, OhiosLargestPlayground.com. The bureau also netted second-place honors in the RUBY Awards' Marketing Campaign category.

Last month, the WCCVB was recognized at the OACVB’s annual STAR Awards. The WCCVB took home first place honors in the categories of Blog, Promotional Video and Social Media Campaign, while its web site notched a second-place finish.

“These two organizations — the OTA and the OACVB — are the leaders of the tourism industry in Ohio, and it’s a distinct honor to have earned recognition from them both,” said Phillip S. Smith, President & CEO of the WCCVB, and President of the OACVB. “Our team in Warren County works hard day in and day out to promote our County in creative, fun and innovative ways, and it’s always a wonderful feeling to have those efforts recognized — especially at a time when our industry has faced so many obstacles. Our efforts are designed to drive visitation to Warren County, and our County’s tourism economy definitely is on the rebound.”

This year’s RUBY Award program included 17 different categories, and Warren County competed with the state's largest CVBs . The awards ceremony was held today at the Ohio Travel Association's (OTA) 2021 Ohio Conference on Travel in Newark, Ohio.

The OACVB’s STAR Awards program included 10 different categories. Just as with the RUBY awards, Warren County competed in the large CVB category. The STAR awards were held on September 16 in Columbus.
