Warren County festivals, attractions draw wintertime travelers

WARREN COUNTY, OH (November 12, 2015) — Beach Mountain, the Lebanon Horse-Drawn Carriage Parade & Christmas Festival, and more wintertime attractions are expected to once again draw considerable crowds to Warren County, Ohio, this winter travel season, according to the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau (WCCVB).

“Winter’s chilly here in Southwest Ohio, but it also can be a heart-warming and charming experience for visitors to our county,” said Phillip S. Smith, President & CEO of the WCCVB. “With our annual winter festivals, popular indoor and outdoor attractions, and wide range of unique holiday shopping options, we fully anticipate another terrific season of tourism.”

In the City of Mason, the wintertime counterpart to The Beach Waterpark, Beach Mountain, will return for its second season of operation later this month. Featuring a 400-foot snow tubing hill, themed play area, and more, it’s scheduled to welcome its first guests of 2015 Friday, November 20.

Elsewhere in Mason, Great Wolf Lodge will transform into Snowland November 28 through January 3, featuring a life-size gingerbread house, visits from Santa, holiday activities for kids, and more. The lodge’s 84-degree indoor waterpark also will remain open for the duration of the winter.

Showcasing its nationally renowned outdoor walk-through display of approximately one million LED lights, The Christmas Ranch in Morrow, Ohio, will welcome back guests November 27 through December 31. Holiday shops, pictures with Santa, themed train rides, and festive food and drink offerings will round out the guest experience.

In the center of the county, Lebanon’s Horse Drawn Carriage Parade & Christmas Festival, scheduled to take place Saturday, December 5, will feature more than 100 decorated carriages pulled by mini horses, Clydesdales, Percherons, and more, as well as live entertainment, specialty shopping, and food and craft booths.

Also in Lebanon, holiday-themed train rides on the Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad’s North Pole Express will be offered select dates and times November 28 through December 22. The nearly 2-hour experience includes a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, entertainment by “Santa’s elves,” as well as hot chocolate and a holiday cookie.

Home to decorated, historic Main Streets, a variety of dining options and more than 100 antique, boutique and specialty shops, the towns of Lebanon, Waynesville and Springboro will once again be among the region’s most popular holiday shopping destinations. Visitors can shop for homemade jams and more at Jam & Jelly Lady in Lebanon, find thousands of fabrics at The Fabric Shack in Waynesville, or hunt for traditional and unique holiday décor at King’s Mills General Store and Christmas Shop in Kings Mills. Locally owned and operated clothing, antique and décor shops complete the holiday shopping experience in Warren County.
