Warren County to Host U.S. Lacrosse Tournament June 17-19

Warren County, OH (June 9, 2016) – Warren County will welcome hundreds of lacrosse players and spectators next weekend when it plays host to the 2016 U.S. Lacrosse Midwest Summer Splash.

The annual tournament, scheduled to be held at the Lebanon Sports Complex June 17-19, will feature a total of 13 youth girls’ lacrosse programs competing at the 15U and 14U levels.

One of only a handful of qualifiers for the U.S. Lacrosse National Championships, this year’s Summer Splash will feature teams from five different states, including California, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, and Virginia.

“Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing youth sports not only here in Ohio, but throughout the entire country, and we’re proud to play a role in continuing that trend,” said Ben Huffman, Director of Sports Marketing of the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau (WCCVB). “We look forward to partnering with U.S. Lacrosse to put on a terrific event, and to showing these athletes and their supporters everything our county has to offer both on and off the field.”

Huffman estimates the tournament will generate an economic impact of more than $200,000 for the area and account for an estimated 200 hotel room nights.

The first round of games will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, June 17, while the championship games are scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, June 19. Admission is free to the public.
